Assisted workstations that eliminate human error

Augmented reality connects plant data with the workstation and guides the operator step by step.

Augmented reality

PLC data, right on the real part

In cells and workstations, augmented reality acts as a 3D extension of control systems and HMIs, linking PLC variables to physical components.

Operators work with pick to light, code scanners and laser projectors that display technical sheets and animated guides on validated bins and batches. Cameras project tolerance maps onto the part before final assembly.

  • Smart poka-yoke: every step is validated before moving on
  • Traceability matching each part’s identity with the recipe
  • Immediate diagnosis of deviations
  • Fewer errors in kitting and assembly

Components

What an assisted workstation includes

Pick to light

Lights guide the operator to the right parts and quantities, in the sequence defined by the bill of materials.

BCR, 2D and RFID readers

Validate barcodes, Data Matrix codes and tags, with two-way communication with the PLC.

Vision camera

Detects millimetric deviations and verifies the assembly: approves or rejects the part and stores the evidence.

Laser projection

Projects instructions and visual guides directly onto the part or car body.

HMI screen

Real-time visualization, diagnostics and alarm management.

Audio over IP

Real-time voice messages over the industrial network (SIP / RTP).

Architecture

Integrated layered network

  1. Management: Long-term traceability, planning, secure remote support and KPIs.
  2. Control: Logic processing, sequential control and coordination of the line and operators.
  3. Assistance: Optical quality control and real-time interactive operator guidance.
  4. Field: Sensors and actuators that capture variables and execute actions.
